The UK rocks is the provider of CWA Training and Assessments at the Castle Climbing Centre in North London. The CWA is an award that allows successful candidates to work on artificial climbing walls within the UK. Below you will find some basic outlines, for full details please contact us directly.
CWA Training:
The CWA Training has pre-requisits. Candidates must:
Have registered with the MLTE
Have at least 6 months climbing experience
Have lead routes at any grade
Have visited and climbed at at least 3 climbing walls
The CWA Training is run over 2 days (16hrs) and covers:
Equipment (PPE) checking and usage
Setting up and running top roped sessions
Bouldering sessions and coaching skills
Setting up and running abseil sessions

CWA Assessment:
The CWA Assessment has pre-requisits. Candidates must:
Have completed a CWA Training or gained exemption
Have gained relevant experience with groups
Have lead at least 40 graded routes
The CWA Training is run over 1 days (8hrs), candidates will be assessed on all aspects of the scheme including the abseiling bolt-on.
